After a good start to the year with plays on BBC Introducing and Radio X Joe Astley is back, this time, fronting The Wallgate Band, with ‘TV Fantasy’.
The song opens with a twangy reverb guitar, fading into a truly gnarly bassline, as the guitar line rings out over Joe’s fantastic vocals. The bridge is fantastically pulled off as we transition into the infectious lines ‘Superstition’s my religion / Conspiracy’s my game’ as the pounding drums send us into an arena sized chorus, reminiscent of Sam Fender, as Joe belts out ‘Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain / Television fantasy is all you know for certain’.
In this song Joe and the band take a look at a huge topics, including the political issues in the USA and also UK, with him referencing the pulling down of statues and the people marching in the streets.
‘TV Fantasy’ is available to stream everywhere 01/01/2021.
